About Us

Lisl Magboo
A Northern California girl at heart, Lisl is a senior Public Relations major at James Madison University and is gearing up for graduation in May. With a passion for social media, technology, food and beverage, Lisl has completed several public relations internships at JMU’s Office of Public Affairs, Rogers & Cowan, Los Angeles and Brower, Miller & Cole. Through these various positions, Lisl has gained hands-on experience with social media, public relations writing and pitching.

Throughout her college career, Lisl has worked for Her Campus, a collegiate blog featuring fashion, beauty, health and career-related content from campuses across the nation. As a national Branch-Manager-turned-social-media-assistant, Lisl now works with the HC chapter at JMU and helps publicize content on Facebook and Twitter. Additionally,Lisl has excelled in the School of Communication Studies at JMU and has been a member of Lambda Pi Eta (the national communications honor society) since 2011. She is currently the academic chair for LPH.

Lisl is also a proud member of Delta Delta Delta, and recently completed her term as Gamma Tau’s Academic Chair. Seeing sisters get engaged and watching them head down the altar has opened the beautiful world (and reality) of weddings for Lisl. After recently attending a sister’s wedding last October, not only did Lisl witness a close friend get married, but also saw some of her good friends fulfill the bridesmaid role. For a college student, this has been quite an experience! From small to more elaborate celebrations, Lisl has seen a wide range of weddings, which is the reason she has developed an interest for the bridesmaids on a budget concept.
Aside from social media, public relations and weddings, Lisl also enjoys traveling, baking, hiking and is obsessed with the San Francisco Giants.
Alaina Nunn
A Southern belle raised on a small farm, Alaina has traded in the cowbells for wedding bells.  Born and raised in Yorktown, VA she is a member of a large extended family and has gained experience as a guest at several weddings as well as a junior bridesmaid at her cousin’s wedding when she was 14 years old.   She is currently a junior at James Madison University, studying public relations and French.  By incorporating her skills in public relations, communications, public speaking and social media she provides a comprehensive and fresh perspective for the modern-day bridesmaid.  Helping your bride organize and plan her wedding can be stressful, but Alaina has the planning and organizing advice that will help you prepare and plan every detail.  Even more, she has learned how valuable social media is in communicating and generating information and ideas for the event to other guests and members of the wedding party!

Her extracurricular activities at James Madison University include being an active member of Delta Delta Delta National Sorority and she is currently preparing for one of her sorority sister’s wedding this May!  Alaina also stays busy as an Independent Consultant for the Swiss health and wellness company Arbonne and as a Model at Hollister & Co.  If you are seeking any skincare or cosmetic advice as well as public speaking and planning to prepare for the big day, she’s your go-to girl.  She enjoys not only providing etiquette, coordinating, speaking and beauty advice but also motivation for every bridesmaid to fulfill her honored duty to the best of her ability.  Contrary to popular belief, the wedding day is not all about the Bride!  As the bridesmaid, you play an imperative role before, during and after the wedding.  You are the Bride’s right hand, her rock and support system!  Alaina’s primary goal is to help you be the ultimate bridesmaid without the stress or exhaustion that can come with this role.  She will enable you to take on your duty with skill, enthusiasm and confidence that will bring even more happiness to everyone on this special occasion.

Stephanie Strickland is a bold trendsetter who developed a passion for weddings ever since the day she caught a bouquet at age eight. From then on, Stephanie has been obsessed with anything wedding-related. Ironically, her future wedding is practically already planned thanks to Pinterest. However, she is still working on finding her future hubby! Even though she has no plans to say “I do” just yet, she is at the point in her life where her friends are being asked to be bridesmaids left and right. After hearing all about their amazing experiences as a bridesmaid, it occurred to Stephanie that there are very few resources to provide fun and helpful tips for making your bride’s dreams come true. With the help of this cutting-edge blog, she hopes that “Blushing Bridesmaids” will give fresh ideas and advice to current or future bridesmaids. Lauren Vacca
Lauren Vacca is a vivacious style-fab girl who although has yet to be a bride (still waiting for that Mr. Prince Charming) loves all things wedding.  From watching endless shows on the Wedding Channel, (got to love David Tutera) to planning her perfect wedding on Pinterest, the whole concept of a fairy tale wedding to embark in true love is something that is so special to Lauren.  Since she is just a young gal, the bridesmaids position is more of a relatable audience for her.  There is nothing she loves more than her friends, and the thought of being able to be next to them on the aisle one day will be one of the biggest honors she says she will encounter.   Lauren’s love for weddings have been greatly influenced by the love that is around her in her life.  Watching her parents be happily in love for 25 years is something that is inspiring and aspirational. To find and celebrate that never-ending love is something she has dreamt about her whole life.  Now, she is not just a gushy, emotional romantic (although she would be lying if she said that was not half-true), she has had many privileges that will allow her to hopefully be the best wedding blogger she can be.

Courses in Public Relations at James Madison University have given her a thorough backbone on how to convey and capture an audience.  Last summer, Lauren interned at Classwish in New York City as a social media/ PR intern and loved soaking up everything the fab city has to offer.  Lauren also just got back from studying five months in Spain, so not only did she meet handsome men and travel amazing sights, Lauren also learned so much about other people and customs that will stay with her forever.  Being a junior at JMU she is very involved.  Lauren is on the Executive Board of her sorority Sigma Sigma Sigma, a member of Public Relations Student Society of America, a participate in many philanthropic and volunteer works, as well as involved in many organizations helping Spanish children and adults learn English.
All of these, credentials, are only what influence who Lauren is.  Underneath it all, this wedding blogger is just a “Jersey Shore, fashion obsessed, mamma’s girl, want to change the world, dreamer”.  She has so many goals and dreams for the future and keeping with her optimistic persona, she would love to accomplish them all.  This romantic’s philosophy has always been to surround herself with eclectic experiences, therefore writing this blog is something Lauren is beyond excited for.  Being able to talk all things girly, trendy and lovey are something to say Lauren knows a thing or two about and she will love to help any and all future bridesmaids be there to support their friend on their big day.  And that one day, Lauren describes, when she is a blushing bridesmaid, she says she will stand there with tears in her eyes and the biggest smile on her face; because after all she is just your typical happily-ever- after type of girl.
